GRADUATION!!!!

Well, I've finally left Rexburg and Brigham Young University-Idaho. And just for the sceptics out there, no, I didn't drop out. I graduated on December 20, 2006 with a Bachelor's degree in Communications/print journalism. So if any of you who see this own a newspaper, please, give me a job.
It was a pretty fun day, the only downside being that all of my family couldn't be there. Come on guys, I went to yours!
Mom and Dad did come and we had a great time.

We started out the festivities with the graduation banquet hosted by the Alumni association. I should have taken a picture of the food since that was Mom's favorite part!
I tried to get a normal picture of my father, but it wasn't easy.

And then Dad tried to take a picture of Mom and I (and sort of focused on the table behind us) :)

The cool thing about the banquet is both Pres. Clark and Elder Holland spoke for a few minutes. It was really neat to be sitting that close to an Apostle.

After the banquet we decided to start off for the Hart building where the main ceremony was going to be. I thought that it would be the perfect opportunity to take some pictures of me in my robe around campus. Okay, to be honest, it was more of Mom's idea. :)

Kudos to anyone who can name where I am in this picture.

I know it's not the flower covered paradise that the rest of my siblings enjoyed when graduating from BYU. In fact, there were no flowers and it was COLD!!!!

The Spori was definitely home-away-from-home for me for quite a few years. I felt it was only fair to give it a minute of fame on my blog.

I was pretty impressed when I saw how this picture turned out. Dad didn't do too bad.

And then no Ricks/BYU-I graduation would be complete without Thor!

After picture taking got too cold, we went to the Hart and parted ways. Being Miller's, we ended up extremely early and I was the second person in the first line. This meant that I had the chance to sit on the front row at graduation, not quite where the rest of you sat. In fact, I was so close that I could see the speakers spit while they talked.

Unfortunately, i thought it would probably be inappropriate for me to take pictures so I had to send my camera with Dad. Fortunately, he and Mom ended up with pretty good seats so he got some good shots.

Of course, Elder Holland was the main speaker. He gave an awesome talk about the history of temples, Zion and how Rexburg was going to join the elite Zionist communities that had both a Temple and a University.

Elder Kerr of the 1st Quorum of the Seventy was the other guest speaker. He's also the head of the CES program (or something like that)

This is one of the Vice Presidents, Brother Chekkets I think, presenting the graduates. It was pretty cool.

Dad started getting creative and taking pictures of the screen.

President Clark spoke too, of course. His talk was also excellent.

After the main ceremony we had about 20 minutes to make it over to the college convocation. Mine happened to be in the Hinkley, which for you old people is behind the gardens. This meant that we had a very fast walk ahead of us. But we made it, sweaty and out-of-breath as we may have been, in time.
This was the real exciting part- hearing my name read. Of course, we had to sit through a slightly dull program before that. The biggest problem for me is that all the student speakers were business majors, I don't care what they have to say. But soon enough it was time. I was extremely blessed to have my name read by Brother Howard who I had a class from a few years ago. What is the significance of this you might ask, well, he knew how to say my name!

Waiting...

Walking...

Shaking Elder Kerr's hand...

I'm not sure who was more excited about getting my diploma, me or Brother Warnick!

I DID IT!!!! If you look closely you can see my diploma case in my hand.

And then it was over. Six years for that...hmm...maybe it was worth it.
