After years of talking about it, we finally made it to the Tulip Festival this year.   For some reason, Thanksgiving Point always seemed so far away.  Now that I work 20 minutes away, it seems a lot closer.  We should definitely go again. :)  It was a lot of fun and really beautiful.  I, of course, took too many pictures, so I thought I'd share some highlights with you - my loyal reader. As I said on my previous post, this year for my birthday we went to St. George and the Tuacahn theater.  This year they were doing "Grease" and "The Little Mermaid".  "Grease" is a fun play and I enjoy the music, but "The Little Mermaid" was the real reason I wanted to go.  Coleman and Roni gave me the soundtrack for my birthday a few years ago and I have been in love with the music.  It's kind of ironic seeing as it's my least favorite Disney movie (okay, maybe just behind Bambi.) Tuacahn is a GORGEOUS theater.  For those of you who don't know, it's an outdoor theater at the base of a beautiful red rock canyon.  They're also famous for flooding the stage, a perfect situation for a play like Little Mermaid.  It was awesome!  We tried to get a picture of all four of us.  Didn't work fantastically. :)  This was what the Little Mermaid stage looked like after the show.  They had pretty impressive sets.  You can still...

One of the many disadvantages of being unemployed, is you have no convenient excuse when your dad and sister decide to go hiking one morning while your sister is visiting during the summer. If I had been working, I could simply have said - "uh, no" but since I was home and had no good excuse of why I wanted to be left out of their morning hike, I had to go. So here are pictures from Waterfall Canyon. This is the first (and most likely last) time I had hiked up here. I've heard a lot about it of course. It's a very popular hike in Ogden. But growing up an hour away from Yosemite, I have very, very high standards for what constitutes a waterfall. Thankfully we'd had an exceptionally wet winter, so the fall was almost impressive. Otherwise it wouldn't have been worth the effort. :) We actually started out by going along the Shoreline Trail, a spot Dad's recently discovered that is level.
