Another post from our New Year's trip to the Rose Parade.  We went on a bus tour of Hollywood. It was actually pretty funny.  We had gotten to our L.A. destination from Solvang about 4 in the afternoon and they took us to the hotel to drop off our bags.  We were then told to load up that we were going to the Hollywood Walk of Fame for the evening.  Well, this was the moment that we separated the old from the really old.  Most of the tour claimed to be too tired and uninterested in Hollywood.  So they stayed at the hotel. Those of us up for more adventure - went to Hollywood! We found Annette's star. :) And then mine!  I was actually really excited by this.  I didn't realize he had a star and sort of stumbled across it. And then took a million pictures, cause - how many times am I going to see my name in concrete. It's days like this that make me happy I live where I live.  I didn't think I could ever replace the love in my heart I have for a sunset over Mt. Grant.  But a rainbow over our Ogden Mountains comes pretty close.

THIS WAS AMAZING!!! The Reagan museum had a special exhibit of Disney Movie memorabilia.  I honestly don't know if I've ever seen something that I was this excited about.  It was like a kid in a candy store.  So if you're not interested in Movie artifacts (and if you aren't, why are we friends) you might want to skip this particular post.  Cause here come the pictures.  AND IT WAS AMAZING!!! They had sculptures from the original Fantasia.  I've always been a fan of the ballet dancing hippos.  This was a set up of Walt Disney's work desk.  This is the original cover of the storybook that starts the cartoon Cinderella!  And this is the book for Sleeping Beauty!!!  Mary Poppins outfit and the blocks from the playroom.  The car from the Absent Minded Professor!  Bedknobs and Broomsticks  Babes in Toyland Cruella DeVill's Outfits and the office from 101 Dalmatians the Movie  Julie Andrew's...

I will start this off with stating that I am a democrat.  I grew up in a democratic household and Jimmy Carter is one of my dad's all time favorite people.  So when I found out that we were going to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum, my first thought was "ugh, what a waste of California."  But then I realized that I didn't know all that much about his presidency  and as Alita says, any museum can be fascinating if the information is presented well.  So I told myself that his could be a great learning opportunity and I should appreciate it. Well, as far as the material being presented well - yeah, they missed on that.  This was one of the worst museums I have ever had to walk through.  I didn't learn anything new about his presidency and the "information" was presented in such a skewed - "he was the hero of our country" way, that it was almost nauseating.   That being said - I still took some pictures. :)   They had ...
