Swimming at RuthAnn's House

Well, we had an unexpected summer visit from some girls this year. Most of you probably know that Coleman spent a good deal of this summer in Mexico with work. He was sent there for a three week trip, again a week and a half later for two weeks and then rounded out the summer with another two week trip. Not exactly what he and Roni had planned this summer. :) One positive point though, was his second trip, he was able to take Roni. This meant that Makadie and Anika needed somewhere to stay for a few weeks. They came here to Utah.

We had a lot of fun with the girls. It was definitely different to have them here for so long, but a lot of fun. I do have a whole lot more respect and admiration for the mothers of the world. That is one job I am still not ready for.


Anyway, the first week they were here, Dad was at Scout Camp, so Annette flew in from Phoenix to help entertain the troops. One of our afternoon's was spent out at RuthAnn's house playing in her new backyard pool. Lucky for us, Emily and Benjamin were out there too and Makadie and Anika LOVED playing with them! So other than the fact that the pool water was FREEZING, it was a great time.

The kids enjoyed a picnic lunch. We made Anika and Makadie put on sunscreen and Ben informed me that he and Emily didn't have to wear sunscreen because they tan. It was pretty funny. They are definitely not little white girls like ours. :)

One Year!

For those of you who may not know, today is my one year anniversary. It has been exactly one year since my graduation from BYU -Idaho and Rexburg . That's right, December 20, 2006 was the memorable day that I said good-bye to Rexburg and the campus that had been my home for too many years and entered the real world. All right, Ogden UT isn't exactly the "real world" but in honor of my anniversary , I thought I would reminisce for a moment and do a recap of my year. Unfortunately the only people who read my blog are quite aware of what I have done this year, but hopefully it will provide some humor . DISNEYLAND!!!!

I'm sure you are all aware that we went to Disneyland for Thanksgiving. I'm making this assumption because four of the six people who regularly read my blog were part of the expedition. We had a great time and here's a little summary of our trip. I was a little apprehensive about spending that much money to go to a theme park. I went to Disneyland when I was a sophomore in High School and had about as much fun as I do at the doctor's office (and no, the doctor's office is not my happiest place on earth.) I knew lots of this had to do with the company and the fact that I got pretty sick in the park and on the way home, but there was still a part of me who attributed it to the fact that I'm not really an "amusement park person." But the girls did make it sound like fun, so I decided to give the park one more chance. Well, I'm certainly glad that I did. It was a blast!!! Colorado Trip- Musuem of Nature and Science

I know it's been a while since I actually went to Colorado, but I have a strict policy on skipping ahead. That means that I can't blog any of my Yosemite pictures until I've done my Easter weekend, so I decided to stop procrastinating. My weekend in Colorado was fantastic. I guess it's hard to go wrong when I'm visiting my favorite brother, sister-in-law and niece. Coleman and Roni are great hosts and anyone who hasn't been out to visit them should serious rethink that. Of course, the only people who read my blog are immediate family members, and they've all been there. So i guess you'll all just have to go again. When Coleman asked me what I wanted to I said "go to the zoo." I'm sure this doesn't come as a shock to anyone who even remotely knows me.
