YSA Murder Mystery 2009

So, a few months ago, I had a very scary experience. I got excited...I mean, I was really excited for a YSA activity. I know, a shock right? Well, they finally did something more than a picnic in the park or a night at the ice sheet. I just couldn't help myself.

Anyway, one of the stakes put a murder mystery together. Amanda, Hana and I ended up on the committee. This meant that we also had parts in the actually story. I volunteered to be the photographer. That was actually my character too. I was Roni something or the other. I thought that was pretty funny. Anyway, as part of my character profile, I also took wedding pictures at the Ogden Temple (it was a wedding reception) and engagement pictures for the happy couple. I was also supposed to be the photographer for the "reception" the night of the murder. This all went pretty well until they double-booked photographers. Anyone who knows me should know that that it one of my BIGGEST pet peeves. Setting that aside, here are pictures.

I know have a better understanding when people say that the Ogden Temple is not bride friendly. Although I am positive that the people are beyond nice, and the experience in the temple is wonderful...it is HARD to find a good wedding shot outside the temple.

This was one of my favorites. The "brides" too.

The bride was supposed to be a spoiled daughter of a mob boss. Hence the grumpy engagement photos.

The day of the party, they asked anyone who was in the cast or on the committee to come about three hours early. Well, this proved to be completely pointless and lead to a lot of bored standing around. Well, when a photographer is bored, she takes pictures...right?

Hana was the character of Grandma Selma. She was a total hit. Kevin didn't have a character so we made him my "assistant". He actually ended up winning an award too. It was pretty funny.

I convinced Amanda to wear her "Barbie" dress.

Amanda and Hana

Amanda kept getting pulled into fights. She was the little sister of the bride and was supposed to be involved in all sorts of drama.

They did have a very pretty wedding cake.

Amanda actually got "wounded" in one of her fights. She was pretty sad.

And then of course, there was the murder...don...don...don.
The Groom tried to act innocent. We'll see about that.Anyway, that pretty much concludes my picture taking. The rest of the time, Kevin and I charged people to look at my camera. That's how we won the money prize. Kevin ended up with the most money. Amanda got best dressed and Hana won best acting. So over all (other than the other photographer) it was a pretty fun evening.
