Memorial Weekend- Mono Lake

After we finished with Bodie, we drove over to Bridgeport- Dad wanted to, and then we headed over to Mono Lake. Mom and I wanted Floyd and Carol to see the tofu, and we were lucky enough to get to the museum before it closed. That is still one of my favorite museums. I could watch their video over and over.
We also went down to the water and a ranger Mom (sort of) knows was bird watching. There was a "black-headed" seagull and they are rare in the area, so he was documenting it.
We also had him document us. :)

Here's the seagull, I promise if you look close you can see him. He looked like a regular seagull wearing an executioner's hood.




After Mono Lake a sane person might think that our excursion was over. No, we were only half through. We left the lake and headed toward Mammoth. On the way we stopped to drive through the June Lakes Loop. It was gorgeous as usual.

When we got to Mammoth, we headed up to the ski resort and then up to the Vista outlook. It's probably a good thing that we didn't wait for Alita to visit there because it was COLD!!!

But beautiful. :)

We didn't get home until late, but it was a pretty fun day!
