Hogle Zoo!!!!!

My only request for when Coleman, Roni and the girls were here was that we spend at least one afternoon at Hogle Zoo. I had been to the zoo with Makadie once, but not since she was a little older and really knows her animals. It seems that every time I go to Colorado, forces are working against us and we don't make it to their zoo, and the times that Makadie comes here, we just haven't had time. But this last trip, I was finally successful in taking Makadie to the zoo. (okay, there were some other people there, and i didn't technically pay. :) )

So here are some pictures from our jaunt to Hogle Zoo.

We wanted to get some of the classic Hogle Zoo pictures with Makadie, but when Mom took her to drink out of the Lion Fountain, she wouldn't have any of it.


Then later after she saw another girl get a drink, she turned to Annette and said "it's not real" and then she was anxious to get her own drink.
This was actually my first trip to a zoo since I got my digital camera. So it was nice being able to take as many pictures without a certain mother telling me to stop wasting film!

I thought this sign was hilarious. Would you really need a written warning to move? If so, you probably deserve what you get.
They had the "Ghost of the Bayou" which is a white alligator. This is the second time we've seen one of these, the first was about fifteen years ago in San Fransisco. This one was just as motivated.

In case you haven't noticed, I've tried to space out the animal pictures with ones of the family. This is a ploy to make sure that you all look at my fantastic animal pictures.


And I thought Coleman had big feet. This was all we could see of the tiger.

We spent a lot of time with the giraffes. I ended up with way too many pictures, so seriously, if any of you decide you want to decorate a room in giraffe, please, let me know.

They have a baby at Hogle Zoo, and he still isn't quite fluid in his motions, you can kind of tell his clumsiness from this picture.

Well, it was an awesome trip to the zoo. I'm so excited to go to Hogle Zoo for my birthday this year, I just know it's going to be an awesome experience.

In the meantime, I suggest you enjoy the pictures slowly, seeing how frequently I update my blog. :)

One Year!

For those of you who may not know, today is my one year anniversary. It has been exactly one year since my graduation from BYU -Idaho and Rexburg . That's right, December 20, 2006 was the memorable day that I said good-bye to Rexburg and the campus that had been my home for too many years and entered the real world. All right, Ogden UT isn't exactly the "real world" but in honor of my anniversary , I thought I would reminisce for a moment and do a recap of my year. DISNEYLAND!!!!

I'm sure you are all aware that we went to Disneyland for Thanksgiving. I'm making this assumption because four of the six people who regularly read my blog were part of the expedition. We had a great time and here's a little summary of our trip. I was a little apprehensive about spending that much money to go to a theme park. I went to Disneyland when I was a sophomore in High School and had about as much fun as I do at the doctor's office (and no, the doctor's office is not my happiest place on earth.) I knew lots of this had to do with the company and the fact that I got pretty sick in the park and on the way home, but there was still a part of me who attributed it to the fact that I'm not really an "amusement park person." But the girls did make it sound like fun, so I decided to give the park one more chance. Well, I'm certainly glad that I did. It was a blast!!! Colorado Trip- Musuem of Nature and Science

I know it's been a while since I actually went to Colorado, but I have a strict policy on skipping ahead. That means that I can't blog any of my Yosemite pictures until I've done my Easter weekend, so I decided to stop procrastinating. My weekend in Colorado was fantastic. I guess it's hard to go wrong when I'm visiting my favorite brother, sister-in-law and niece. Coleman and Roni are great hosts and anyone who hasn't been out to visit them should serious rethink that. Of course, the only people who read my blog are immediate family members, and they've all been there. So i guess you'll all just have to go again.
